PEORIA, AZ – Police arrested have arrested a suspect in connection with a recent bank robbery in Peoria.
Shane Jimerson, 20, allegedly robbed a U.S. Bank located inside of a Safeway at 6817 W. Peoria Avenue on September 19th.
According to police, Jimerson entered the store at about 12:40 p.m. and demanded money from a teller.
Jimerson reportedly held his hands behind his back and told the clerk that he had a weapon, but none was ever seen by the teller.
When the teller refused to comply with Jimerson’s demands, he fled the store, officials said.
Police were reportedly able to identify the suspect by an anonymous tip and Jimerson admitted his involvement in the robbery once contacted by the authorities.
Jimerson is currently in the custody of the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office and faces charges of armed robbery.
