BUCKEYE, AZ -- Authorities say an inmate was air-lifted to a Valley hospital after being stabbed at an Arizona prison Saturday.
Arizona state prison officials said the male inmate was stabbed multiple times by another inmate at the Lewis prison in Buckeye about 9:30 a.m.
The inmate was being housed in the Buckley Unit at the facility.
Officials said a weapon has not been found.
The injured inmate was flown to Maricopa Medical Center. His condition is unknown at this time.
No other inmates were injured in the attack and so far no one has been charged in the stabbing, according to officials.
