Since Mary only weighs in at 7 lbs., I'm wondering if the poor dog's injuries might have been caused by a much larger animal or maybe hit by a car. Hope they can raise enough for her surgery though.

While I am not OK with the people who did this to this dog, I will venture to say that the perpetrators were likely abused themselves. In my experience as a foster parent and school teacher I have learned that horrible things are done to defenseless children, who often grow up to do horrible things to defenseless animals, for starters. With all the crazies out there, we must protect the children and end the cycle of crazy adults. Get involved if your gut tells you something is not right with your neighbors. Call the authorities--a school, the police, CPS. Protect the children and prevent the abuse of animals!

Lorida thats precisely why Id like to put some of these people under glass and study them like a bug when we do catch them.Ditto for murderers and child molesters. Not that I wouldnt mind seeing them in a cage with bubba for life,or just put out of our misery, but maybe we can learn something my way that can be used to recognize these sickos and head em off at the pass.JoeZona and ff85258 if you are that callous about one animal, why bother saving any of them? Some belive in doing the best they can one animal at a time. They dont have room for 50 dogs that would eventually cost even more than $1500 just to feed and house with regular vet vists and such. But they do have room for this one,if only in their hearts.Give em a break.

I agree with JoeZona. With so many healthy dogs at the pound ready to be euthanized, this pup should just be put down humanly. I mean that 1500 could get help towards finding many dogs homes.

This puppy needs to recup and find a loving home, that will help forget the abuse, no need to put down, these are the ones that you need to save, they deserve better. I have rescued 4 so far from abuse and it's the best feeling when you save them. They look at you with those eyes that make you melt, so thankful.

There is a clue in re reading this report, it looks like the "thing" that commited the disfiguration knew where to drop off the Shih Tzu, because it was dropped right on the door step of the animal shelter employee!!!!! Helloooo......its close to shelters, be on the watch for strange mad men, they are seemingly watching dogs and cats as prey, its possibly lurking around in the neighborhood too.

Just put the animal out of it's misery. Sheesh.

Kalshnicovdude I think I understand what your saying, can these non human type people be identified thru some kind of profile? Like a sick demented person could be identified almost immediately, do these non humans exhibit something that would set off an alarm, and can be caught before more torture is imposed on these animals? Maybe, because of this non human soul & emotion trait, they must reside in some special areas of the population, if we could have more information it would be helpful. I know there are many strange things in this world, but its getting weirder, stranger and more dangerous instead of evolving correctly.

if it was a human who did that, if they are caught the same needs to be done to them...
