GLENDALE, AZ -- You may be thinking that high school students are a little too old to be trick or treating, but they are certainly not too young to help out a good cause.
On Halloween night, students from four West Valley high schools will be out trick or treating, but instead of candy, they will be asking for any perishable food items you may have.
They are calling it, "Trick or Treat, So Others Can Eat," and the food items they collect will then be donated to the West Valley Food Bank.
The students say that this not only gets them out of the house that night, but it also gives them a feeling of pride.
"It will make me feel good to be helping other people instead of just helping myself, and getting more cavities," said Marissa Flores, a junior at Raymond C. Kellis High School.
The DECA organization at Mountain Ridge started the idea and this year Kellis High, Peoria High and Liberty High will also be taking part.
So this Halloween make sure to stack some cans next to the candy bowl by the door.
