GLENDALE, AZ -- Glendale police said Friday afternoon that a woman who was found in Mesa after what was believed to be a sexual assault, was not assaulted in their city.
Earlier, police said they believed the woman had been taken from a Glendale neighborhood, near 51st and Northern avenues, sexually assaulted, and found in Mesa.
Glendale officials said the assault did not occur in Glendale and will be handled by another agency.
Mesa police confirm that she was found in Mesa early Friday, but it is unclear where she was located.
No other information has been confirmed at this time and the investigation is just getting underway, according to police.
