GLENDALE, AZ – The suspect involved in the disposing of a murder victim's body in a Glendale dumpster was indicted on Monday.

Miguel Angel Sanchez, 24, was indicted by a grand jury on felony charges of first degree murder, burglary, armed robbery, kidnapping, arson and theft.

Authorities arrested Sanchez on November 2nd on suspicion of murdering Paul Kapitz and attempting to dispose of his body.

According to a police report, officers responded to a call around 3 p.m. on October 27 of a report that while a person was looking through the dumpster’s contents, they found a body.

Police said that the victim’s body had been wrapped up in several blankets, stuffed inside a 50-gallon trash bag, and then put into the dumpster.

A witness reportedly told investigators that they saw a "Spanish male" dumping the bag into the dumpster.

Kapitz's death was ruled a homicide by medical examiners; the autopsy report stated that the victim sustained blunt force trauma to the head and multiple stab wounds.

The victim could not be identified through fingerprints or facial descriptions, but investigators were tipped off about a suspicious fire at Kapitz's apartment, officials said.

Police found that Kapitz had been reported missing on October 31.

Police reportedly searched his apartment where several blood stains were found. A fire had apparently been lit inside in attempt to cover up the evidence.

Kapitz’s 2003 Dodge Durango was also missing from the premises, according to the report.

An uncle of Sanchez reportedly told authorities on Monday that he suspected his nephew may have killed someone.

Investigators apparently learned that Sanchez had warned his family that he “had done something bad and he had to leave or he would be put away for a long time.”

Sanchez’s girlfriend also told police the suspect had told her that he had gotten into a confrontation with a man and that he had killed and disposed of him, authorities said.

She reportedly told police that Sanchez went to the victim’s apartment with a gun that was not loaded, got into a confrontation with Kapitz, and then killed him. He also apparently told his girlfriend how he had disposed of the body.

Investigators reportedly found Kapitz’s missing Durango and found several items belonging to Kapitz, such as credit cards and an ID, inside a pair of jeans belonging to Sanchez.

When he was arrested, Sanchez apparently admitted that he had intended to rob Kapitz by using a gun as a scare tactic. Sanchez also confessed to hitting Kapitz with the gun, disposing of his body, and setting a fire in order to cover up the evidence, officials say.
