GLENDALE, AZ – Luke Air Force Base has received support from Arizona officials for its continued practice of fighter plane training programs.
The support came in the form of a letter sent to Luke officials from Arizona representatives in Washington D.C. on October 15.
In the letter, Luke Air Force Base received positive support on its continued fighter plane training programs and the usage of the base for the new F-35 plane training in the coming years.
The correspondence was signed by 10 Arizona representatives including Senator John McCain, Representative Ann Kirkpatrick, Senator John Kyl, and Representative Harry Mitchell.
This support helps the
Luke Forward campaign, which was begun in order to bring the F-35s to the base and to exhibit the importance of its fighter pilot training program to the Department of Defense.

Charley Freericks, co-chair of the Luke Forward campaign, reportedly received the news of the support well.
Freericks stated in a press release, “To have Arizona’s entire congressional delegation unify and show their unwavering support of Luke Air Force Base is a very significant step forward in helping secure Luke’s future mission.”
