EL MIRAGE, AZ – Police are searching for a suspect who shot a man multiple times at a Halloween party in El mirage Saturday night.
El Mirage police said officer responded to a call of a shooting at a home near A Street and Meyer Lane just after 11 p.m.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 39-year old male who had been shot in the front yard of the residence.
The victim apparently had been shot at least once in the chest and once in the back, according to police.
Fire paramedics responded to the scene and treated the victim who was transported to John C. Lincoln Hospital in serious condition.
The victim underwent emergency surgery early Sunday morning and is expected to survive.
Investigators reportedly determined that the victim had been attending an outdoor Halloween party at the residence.
According to witnesses, the victim got into an argument with the suspect who allegedly pulled a gun and shot the victim.
The suspect fled on foot and is still outstanding.
Officers contacted and interviewed several witnesses to the incident.
Detectives are following up on several leads.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his 30s, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 180 pounds, and was wearing a long sleeve blue shirt, blue pants and a grey cowboy hat.
