With the roar of a 440 cubic inch engine in the foreground, Roy Berrelez, of Buckeye, has been reunited with a old love of his life.
"I never thought I would see this car again," said Roy, who's been fixing cars as the owner of Avondale Automotive for more than 20 years.
That's right, more than 20 years ago the Berrelez family built and raced a 1970 Dodge Charger 500.
Its name was Agent Orange.
Eventually, it was sold in a business deal with Roy's brother in law and then sold out of the family and disappeared.
"The car sounds exactly the way it did 20 years ago," said Roy.
His kids reunited him with his old car last Father's Day after they told him they had a surprise.
"I thought it was a barbecue or something like that," said Roy.
But it was just a card with something inside.
"The picture of the car was in there and also the title of the car. I said, 'What? Did you guys buy this car?' and they said 'yeah we got it for you dad for Father's Day,'" said Roy.
His son, Victor, found the car on Craigslist a couple of months ago.
"I couldn't believe it, I about fell out of my chair," said Victor.
Victor kept the secret from his dad until the last minute on Father's Day.
"I was trying to be tough but I got a little teary eyed," said Roy.
Now the Berrelez family feels like another son has come home.
"It was something we will never forget," said Victor
Hopefully for good this time.
