BUCKEYE, AZ – Police have located the parents of a young boy who was found on a sidewalk in Buckeye Thursday morning.

Buckeye Police Lt. Phil Harris said a woman came across the boy, approximately 2 years old, on the sidewalk and couldn't find any adults or parents who knew the child.

She reportedly took the child home and called Buckeye police just after 8 a.m.

The boy was with the woman and police as they looked for the parents.

Officers knocked on door of nearby homes but could not find the parents.

Around 9:45 a.m., the child's mother was located.

Police said she had fallen asleep while feeding her baby daughter.

Officers are continuing to investigate what happened.  No charges have been filed in the incident.

CPS has been notified of the unsupervised boy.
