CAVE CREEK, AZ -- A Valley mother is upset after her son was sent home from school this week because the school nurse said he looked sick.

It happened Tuesday at Desert Willow Elementary School in Cave Creek.  Ian Husovsky went back to school after fighting off the worst of a flu earlier in the week.

She never found out if it was the swine flu or not, but her point is that Ian was feeling fine.  He even went to school with a note from doctors saying he was fine.

But when Ian got to class the school nurse said Ian didn't seem well.  That he looked tired and was coughing.  She sent him home.

The boys mother Marla was angry.  She says worries about swine flu have the school acting paranoid.  She says she followed the guidelines, getting a doctor’s approval and waiting the requested 24-hour period.

District officials say they have to follow the advice of their health professionals, follow state guidelines and protect the other 600 plus students at the school.

Ian Husovsky went back to school Thursday.  At last check he was allowed to stay.
