Could Ozone treatments fight off swine flu?
PHOENIX -- Some Valley doctors are promoting Ozone treatments as a valuable tool to fight off the swine flu.
"I was so sick I was afraid to drive to the doctor" says Skip Gochoel who was fighting off the flu or swine flu a few weeks ago. "I got the treatment, in two hours I felt great and by the end of the day I was ready to go back to work."
The gas is known to be a powerful oxidizer and doctors have known about its health benefits for years.
The treatment works like this: Doctors take a vile of blood from your arm then mix it with the ozone gas from a small machine. A simple shake is all it takes. Then the mixture goes back in the arm and that's it. It takes five minutes and costs around $95.
By stimulating the production of white blood cells and the release of immune system messengers, called cytokines, ozone helps the body to fight multiple infections and even inhibit tumor growth.
"All our treatments try to put the body on high alert for any illnesses or viruses they may be encountering," said Dr. Suneil Jain, a naturopathic doctor. The flu is already coming on stronger than the past few years."Patients can get the treatment, usually a shot, for battling chronic fatigue, allergies, and in fighting acute infections like colds, influenza including the swine flu. Contact your doctor to find out more. Some patients say they take the treatment once a month to keep them healthy and make them feel better.
Gochoel says "the time and the money are well worth it."
