TEMPE, AZ -- Vegetarians might feel a little intimidated when it comes to Thanksgiving dinner.
The meal is traditionally centered around a large helping of turkey.
"The Green Restaurant" in Tempe wants everyone to know there are other options.
On Thursday November 26, from noon to 4pm, the will celebrate what they call "Thanks-living."
The event will feature live music, games, a guest speaker (
Gene Bauer) and of course a full Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings, even a "mock" turkey.
"It's not just for the vegetarians and the vegans, we hope a lot of people, every kind of diet catches on to it and just digs it," said Stevie Martinez a manager at the restaurant.
Tickets for the event are $24.95 if you buy them ahead of time, either at the store or on the Green Restaurant website.
The cost will go up to $28.95 if you pay at the door on the day of the event.
This is the 2nd year for the "Thanks-living" event, with about 50-75 people showing up last year.
"We're just trying to show people that food can be good without animals or animal products in it," added Martinez.
