TEMPE, AZ -- A Tempe mother has been charged with aggravated assault after she allegedly pepper sprayed her daughters when they tried to stop her from driving drunk.
According to a Tempe police report, 35-year-old Michelle Antone awoke about 4 p.m. on Saturday at her home near Apache Boulevard and the Loop 101 freeway.
Police said she was intoxicated.
Antone reportedly became belligerent toward her daughters, ages 15 and 10, so they left the home.
The police report shows the girls returned about 6 p.m. and Antone asked her daughters for her car keys. They were apparently locked in another room to keep Antone from driving while she was drunk.
Antone's older daughter said she didn't have access to the room where the keys were located and Antone became upset and allegedly began pepper spraying her daughters.
She left the home and was located by police at a nearby park. According to investigating officers, Antone showed signs of impairment.
Antone was arrested and taken to the Tempe City Jail where she was booked on two charges of aggravated assault.
