A 33-year-old man has been arrested for using a video camera to spy on a woman while she used the bathroom at a Tempe business.
Tempe Police spokesperson Katie McDevitt said Lance Osborn was taken into custody Tuesday after the victim said she saw the camera through a hole in the wall at Bisco Industries near Southern Avenue and Loop 101.
"This was a person who took advantage of a victim in her most vulnerable time, in a restroom, and at her place of employment, where she is supposed to feel safe," said McDevitt.
Osborn's office is right next to the women's restroom, according McDevitt. He apparently waited for the victim to walk past his office to the restroom, and then accessed the camera remotely from his computer. McDevitt said he had also installed sound equipment.
When police confronted the suspect about the charges, Osborn apparently admitted to videotaping the woman. He had allegedly been watching her for three weeks.
"Oh my God, I'm shocked," said Debbie Quick, who lives across from the office. "I can't blieve that someone would do that. This is a nice neighborhood. I hope he gets punished."
McDevitt said Osborn has been charged with one count of surreptitious viewing, a felony charge. He's now out on bond.
Osborn was a sales manager at Bisco Industries, but was fired after the arrest.
Bisco Industries has not commented on the arrest.
