TEMPE, AZ -- Firefighters from three east Valley cities responded to the scene of a 1st alarm fire in south Tempe Saturday.

According to Tempe Fire Department Capt. Victor Garcia, firefighters found flames showing from the building near Kyrene and Warner roads.

Reportedly, the facility had already been evacuated when crews arrived at about 10 a.m. Garcia said between 30 and 50 people were outside the building when crews arrived.

He said there was heavy smoke inside the business, which makes springs for garage doors. Garcia said it took less than 10 minutes to put out the fire, but that cleanup could take some time.

The fire reportedly started in "scrubbers" or air handlers in the building.

No one was injured, according to Garcia.
