MESA, AZ -- It's a first of its kind for the state - a cab company that has carbon negative taxis.
Clean Air Cab CEO, Steve Lopez says "Our mission is to make it affordable and convenient for everyone to go green by offering green cabs at less expensive rates than traditional cab alternatives."
"We get one third less the cost of fuel, we go twice the distance, and we throw that savings right back to our customers," Lopez adds. "Then our customers get value for going green."
How can they do it? Lopez says the have 26 Toyota Prius' that offer an extra 33 miles per gallon which offers a gas savings of almost 1,000 miles per gallon across the fleet.
The company says it will also plant ten trees in the rain forest, every month, for each cab ride.
