MESA, AZ -- Police are calling it a set up, a pizza delivery driver robbed at gunpoint.

It happened at an apartment complex on Broadway near Dobson Road in the early morning hours of June 25th.

Nathan Crowder, age 20, and 19-year-old Deandre Armstrong are now behind bars for the crime.

Police said it all happened after the victim showed up to deliver a pizza at apartment #23.

The apartment was actually vacant, police said, but inside were Crowder and Armstrong, waiting with semi-automatic weapons.

Court paperwork shows they pointed the guns at the victim, stole the pizza and took the money he had with him.

The man who lives in the apartment right across the way said he's so glad he was working a night shift when this happened.

"I could have been walking out or coming in from working or something so I'm pretty glad it didn't happen when I was here," said Oscar Gutierrez, who lives right across from the vacant apartment where it happened.

After police investigated, they found out Armstrong's sister lived in a neighboring apartment.

Court paperwork reveals she admitted to knowing about the armed robbery and told police the two sold the victim's cell phone.

"I think that's very malicious," said David Wilson, who lives in the complex.

Neighbors said the problem is it's hard to get to know anybody or figure out who you can trust because of the turnover rate at apartment complexes.

"We need security seven nights a week," said Wilson.

Mesa police said they were able to track down the armed robbers because of a cell phone they used to call in the order.

Court paperwork reveals the cell phone belonged Armstrong and was registered in his grandmother's name.
