MESA, AZ -- Authorities say a bank robbery suspect arrested Thursday was already on parole for robbery.
According to Mesa Police spokesman Michael Melendez, Anthony Blake Gosney, 43, was arrested shortly after a Compass Bank near University and Stapley drives was held up around 4:50 p.m.
Melendez said the suspect, wearing an orange hat, sunglasses and red flannel shirt, gave the teller a demand note then left the bank westbound on foot with the money.
Officers reportedly found the suspect in an alley about three blocks away five minutes later.
Melendez said all the money and the robbery disguise clothing were recovered.
Gosney was booked on robbery charges, according to Melendez. He had been released from an Arizona prison on November 5 and is on parole for robbery, Melendez said.
