MESA, AZ -- When a pair of Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppies was born two weeks ago, a Mesa family knew right away they had something special on their hands.
Nicoleta Piercy said her 12-year-old daughter, Tatiana, wanted to be there for the early morning birth.
"My daughter was there and she wanted to stay up with me and see the puppies being born," Piercy said.
But once they arrived, Nicoleta and Tatiana saw right away that one of the puppies had special markings.
"She was holding it in her hand and she said, 'it has a Mickey Mouse head,'" Piercy said.
Sure enough, the puppy had what looked like a silhouette of Mickey Mouse's head and ears on its back.
The family looked on the Internet for similarly marked dogs and say they found a couple but the markings on those dogs were not as "obvious or beautiful."
Piercy's husband, Robert, contacted representatives at Disney who said they are thinking about having the dog live at a Disneyland fire station, according to Piercy.
Piercy says the spaniels are known for being good companion dogs.
"They're excellent with kids, the elderly, adjust very well to the apartment lifestyle. They just want to be by your side," she says.
Mickey's temperament has already started to take shape says Piercy. "She is not as feisty as the other one … she's more laid back with a sweet temperament."
And with her looks, she could get a free pass to Disneyland for life.
