I love AZ cause we got the best laws for repo. i'm a 3rd generation repo guy an i seen a lot of crazy stuff. getting a gun pulled on you aint nothin. if your gonna pull a gun you better use it cause i'm gonna blow you away first chance i get. if all you cry babies getting your toys taken away get in my way, i'm takin you out. don't care if everyone in my shop has a record. we do the job other people don't want to. it's our livelyhood and where else can we get satisfaction from stealing your stuff and telling you to F off. Finally the law is on our side. Have a nice day!

Repo men getting assaulted on the job goes with the territory. Most of them have police records and can't lawfully possess a gun anyway. Many of these criminals are unemployeable in the public sector so they gotta go where the money is. Where else can you legally steal for a living?

Recovery agent usually carry guns. Pistol whipping someone should get you 10 years.

I'm sure he's innocent of all charges. Just ask him.

thanks for the update repoagent. i'm sorry the agent had to go through that. hope he'll be ok. i'm sick of whiny people wanting more than they can afford and getting it anyway - then doing something like this when it gets rightfully taken away. what a punk loser that relative turned out to be. i hope they get him in pink shorts real soon.

this was a text book self help repossession. the recovery agent had possession of the collateral without a breach of the peace. a relative of the debtor pulled the gun and advised the recovery agent to step out of the truck or die. the debtor was aware his vehicle was out for repossession and the recovery agent identified himself and showed him the recovery paperwork. it was this 3rd party who became involved in a civil matter and turned the repossession into a criminal situation by assaulting the agent. this agent has been in the field for almost 40 years and is very respected within the industry on a national level. his reputation is beyond reproach and he is lucky to be alive.

Having a sheriff present while repossessing a car isn't feasible, especially in a big city such as Phoenix. It's really not a hard concept to grasp: if you don't pay, your car gets repossessed. Banks have to be sneaky about it, otherwise they would never get their property back.
