Yeah, your right marshall,we do.Its just that when I decided I was going to live my life honestly,a relatively short time ago,Ive found it makes little difference to the way I must treat people as an honest living man.

Thanks kalsh for the compliment I appreciate it no end. No there are some who I pay honest weight too for sure. It seems it is getting to be more common though. I bought a bag of chips the other day that said 11 ounces net weight. So I weighed them on a gram scale and they came out to just over 10.5 ounces. Sort of wonder how many bags a day they produce times that half ounce or so. Every 22 bags the 23rd one is free. Clear one hundred per cent profit. We all get sacammed .

Marshall, you sound like one shady guy yourself. So is he the only guy you beat on the weight?

marshall - 7/5/2009 1:53 PM
I own a scrap yard . I do not have the time to take down everybodys personalinfo and take pics of them with what they are selling. There was a guy that ysed to own an air coonditioning company and a plate and auto glass company . He used to hire guys to go out and smash windows ,break windshields, and tear condensers out of air conditioning un its along with the copper.I dealt with the guy for years and could never figure out how he had so much scrap and was doing so well.lol. One day he finally came up to me and said well I am retiring and i have sold the b usiness. So i congratulated him and off he went . 10 years and he was never even sniffed at by the police. probably made a cool million in extra money especially doing the repairs. The new guy started bringing me his scrap and it amounted to maybe $200.00 a week whereas the previous owner was bringing me $1,000.00 on a slow week so it goes to show you not all crooks are stupid. needless to say I always beat him on the weight . I had a special scale for him cause he did not want to bessen if you know what I mean .lol.

"Thieves are basically stupid, they usually end up taking themselves out and getting caught due to greed." LOL Kinda of the like auto industry. Or the USG. Hahaha. Damn that comment could apply to almost anything, not just your common low level thug.

Good for these thieves, thats a good score. Gotta do what ya gotta do in these times, especially in a city that has such a horrible job market due to illegal aliens and incompetent state officials. These thieves are no different from the thieves in DC. One steals copper wire, the other steals money right out of your paycheck.

azmom: Your statement: "There are no repairmen out working on the rooftops in the cover of darkness. Just call one at midnight, and they aren't coming out to fix your a/c." I would like to know who you called that wouldn't come out. I want to apply there. The first wave of sustained temps over 100 adds "nocturnal creature" to my resume every year. Actually, if I could get away with it, I would ONLY come out at night. Now, if you add the glory of working all night AND getting pulled over by the "copper patrol" and you get a job that just can't be beat. I think the cops have better things to do at night than babysit copper that businesses should have secured or guarded. Thieves are basically stupid, they usually end up taking themselves out and getting caught due to greed. Too bad everybody else has to pay for it until they do. Trouble is, there is always another one waiting to take their place.

azmom "I'd be hanging out at the scrap metal joints and monitor who comes in with what too."?!!? are you trying to sound stupid?

cactusjumper - 7/4/2009 7:32 PM
Police do check some of these scrap yards. BUT...The yards only keep track of LARGE sales like 1-200lbs or more so as long as the thieves sell small quantities, it's hard to catch who is doing it. Copper is the only metal they check on too.
