MESA, AZ -- Humana is challenging East Valley residents to get out, enjoy some fresh air, and brush up on their motor skills through a new bike sharing program.
"Freewheelin," Humana’s free community bike sharing program is encouraging people to try a healthy and fun way to get around Mesa.
Eighteen bikes, helmets and bike locks are now available to borrow at the Humana Guidance Center located at 5943 E. McKellips, Suite 106.
“It’s fun for everybody and a great way to stay fit and really enjoy the weather here,” President of Humana of Arizona, Mark El-Tawil says. “The idea is to get people to try out an alternate mode of transportation.”
You have to be at least 18 years old to rent the equipment and you must also provide a valid I.D. and credit card. Your credit card will not be charged unless the bike or other rented equipment is not returned.
Humana’s West Coast Region Market President, Debbie Smith says “Freewheelin” is one of a number of different things Humana is trying to encourage people to have fun and get active.
“The more we make an effort to stay fit and active,” Smith says, “The longer we will be able to live healthy, independent lives.”
Keep in mind, you can only check out the bikes, helmets and locks Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
