CHANDLER, AZ – Police are looking for a hit and run driver who allegedly crashed into a man outside a Chandler sports café early Friday.
Police said the suspect was kicked out of the Draft House Sports Café near Warner Road and Arizona Avenue around 1:30 a.m.
The man reportedly got into his SUV and drove over a curb into a small wall where the victim was sitting.
Police said a friend of the man who had been struck then attacked the driver and might have punched out the driver-side window.
The victim in this case remains in stable condition in an area hospital.
The suspect is described as a black male between 6 feet and 6 feet 2 inches tall, about 300 pounds, and has a pencil thin beard.
He was last seen wearing a dark blue or black sports baseball cap, dark shirt, and jeans.
Police said the man is a frequent customer of the Draft House Sports Café in Chandler and might go by the nickname 'Bishop.'
The suspect vehicle is described as a 2003/04 pearl white Dodge Durango with 22-inch chrome rims with thin wall tires.
The vehicle has dark tinted windows and a broken front driver's side window, and damage to right front tire and rim from striking a curb and the small block wall. The bottom of the vehicle is accented with a chrome strip.
