GILA RIVER, AZ – Two accidents occurred about an hour apart at the same intersection in the Southeast Valley Tuesday morning.

Officer M.J. McCall with the Arizona Department of Public Safety said two vehicles collided in the intersection of State Route 87 and Sacaton Road at 5:42 a.m.

Fire officials said both vehicles ended up on their roofs trapping both drivers.

Both vehicles could be seen a few yards off the roadway in Air15 video.

McCall said there were injuries, but the extent of these injuries is unknown at this time.

One person was seen being placed into a medical helicopter that landed on the roadway.

Just as crews were clearing the scene around 6:50 a.m., a car was seen from Air15 speeding through the intersection and hitting a minivan.
