PHOENIX -- A former high school girls basketball coach in Apache Junction has been sentenced to 20 years probation for a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old girl.
Raeanna L. Jewell also was sentenced Monday by Pinal County Superior Court Judge Boyd T. Johnson to 180 days in jail, but given credit for already spending 87 in custody.
Pinal County Attorney's Office spokesman Kostas Kalaitzidis says the remaining 93 days in jail could be dropped at a December court hearing if Jewell complies with the requirements of her probation.
Jewell was charged with sexual conduct with a minor and luring a minor for sexual exploitation after her March 29 arrest.
Court records showed Jewell admitted engaging in sex acts with the victim in a gym restroom at Apache Junction High School.
