Bacon it is yummy but messy to cook, so much grease. The makers of the Bacon Genie claim that you will have no more mess.
The
Bacon Genie says it will hold up to twelve pieces of bacon and the grease from the bacon will drip down into the reservoir, making less of a mess and easy to clean. But let me try it before you buy it.
I read the instructions; first I need to assemble the
Bacon Genie. Insert the T lock at the base of the handle into the T lock slot, then turn it ninety degrees to lock it into place.
Then, instructions say to hang slices over the bacon handle and cover with a paper towel. I put the maximum amount of bacon on which is twelve pieces. Now cooking time in the microwave. For twelve pieces it says eight to ten minutes. I set the microwave for eight minutes and watched my bacon cook.
After eight minutes and one to two minutes to wait for the bacon to cool, how did it do? The
Bacon Genie did keep most of the grease on the tray, but a little bit fell out. The bacon tasted as good as bacon does when you cook it in the microwave. I paid $7.99 plus shipping and handing. Do I think it is worth the money? No I don’t because you can do the exact same thing without spending extra money. If you want to cook the bacon in the microwave just put it in a plate with napkins and when it is done cooking press the excess grease off with napkins. If you want the best possible tasting bacon use a cast iron pan on the stove. Yes you will get a mess of grease but it will taste like bacon should, greasy and crisp.
