Do you have things lying around your house that don’t get much use anymore?

You could sell it, but now you can also make some money and rent it on a website called Zilok. All you have to do is open an account with them and start posting your stuff. Signing up and posting is free.

Whether it's a drill, a digital camera, even a wedding dress, you can put it on the website and rent it out at a price you set. Maybe you have camping gear sitting in your garage that hasn’t seen daylight for five years, post it and you can make some good money and put your camping gear to use.

Zilok will charge you 5 to 10 percent commission once you rent your item. So let's say you rent out a digital camera for $20 a day, Zilok will take 5 to 10 percent out of that and instead of putting the $20 into your account they will deposit $18 to $19.

The renting transaction takes place over the Internet, except when it comes to delivering the product. You can arrange a time and location with the renter to pick up the product and also charge them a deposit fee.

So, instead of using up storage space, put those little-used items to work.
