Looking for a certain type of dog but don't want to buy from a breeder?

Well hop on your computer and go to Petfinder.

I really wanted a Golden Retriever but it was exhausting going from shelter to shelter.

I found my pure bred Golden Retriever through a rescue organization by using Petfinder.

This is a very useful site, it's free to search and an easy way to search for a pet to adopt. Here is how it works, you choose the type of pet you are looking for, like a dog, cat, even a horse.

Then you choose the breed, age, size, gender and location and Petfinder will search out pets in your area that need to be adopted!

When the list of pets comes up, some of the pets will have pictures showing the animal, along with descriptions of them, and where they are located. Also you will get emails of any updates or new pets listed often daily.

So check out the Petfinder it gives you a better chance of finding the pet you want and usually lists all pets available from a lot of pet rescue places including the Human Society or animal control.
