You don't have to go trick or treating to celebrate Halloween for free.
Tempe's is celebrating its 32nd annual Halloween Carnival Saturday from 5:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Kiwanis Park on Mill Avenue and All-American Way. Admission is free but tickets for game and food booths are $.25 cents each. Magician Craig Davis will be there from 6 to 7 p.m. There will also be costume contests, face painting, mini-train rides, a haunted bus, horse rides, and bounce houses.

If you want to get started early on the Halloween celebration head over to
Bashas' Saturday between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. They will have trick or treating throughout the stores, costume contests for the kids starting at 2 p.m. and free cookies and apple cider. Just look up a Bashas' location near you.
While we are on the subject of free, I am in Deal of the Day mode from now until the end of November. Not all of the deals are free but you will get some free stuff and huge discounts on hotels, spas, food, rental cars and lots of activities.
So make sure to tune in weekdays at both 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. throughout the month.
You will need to show either your
Smart Shopper card or have our ABC15 iPhone or iTouch application downloaded to cash in on the deals.
