Does the 'Slice Wizard' live up to its cutting claims?

A slicer that will chop, dice, slice, thick or thin and on all kinds of food with ease?

It sounds too good to be true. The makers of the Vidalia Slice Wizard claim their product will do just that. But before you buy it I had to try it.

The Wizard comes with a cutting blade for slicing, plus five inserts. The instructions say to choose the correct blade attachment, slide it into the wizard and put food into the safety dispenser and you're ready.

We tested the slicer on radishes, potatoes and used the julienne blade to slice them into french fries. We also tried dicing onions, mincing tomatoes and even slicing cheese.

How did it perform?

The Vidalia Slice Wizard was not easy to use and often the item I was slicing would get caught in the blade. I think using a knife and a cutting board would be easier and cheaper so I gave the Vidalia Slice Wizard a thumbs down.

We paid $14.99 plus shipping for the Vidalia Slice Wizard at www.carolwrightgifts.com.
