A suburb on the outskirts of Phoenix was named one of the year’s eight areas in the U.S. with the highest growth.
Gadberry Group gave Queen Creek the top honor Friday, saying the area added an average of seven occupied households every day since January 1, 2000.
"Queen Creek's consistent, sustained growth is amazing," Gadberry Group’s principal, Larry Martin, said in a press release. "This is truly some of the most remarkable growth we've ever seen."
The city also made the list in 2007 and 2006, but Gadberry Group researchers say it is important to note that the city also suffered from the downturn in the housing market this year. Queen Creek ranked in the top eight list of bank-owned foreclosure properties.
Following Queen Creek on the growth list came Enterprise, NV, Helotes, TX, Wesley Chapel, FL, Indian Trail, NC, Castle Rock, CO,
Another Arizona city, Goodyear, ranks among the six alumni from last year’s list that made this year’s top 25. The others include the Frisco, TX, Wentzville, MO, Brighton, CO, North Port, FL, and Plainfield, IL, Elk Grove, CA and New Orleans.
