OVER reaction. One inmate who just arrived via plane through sky harbor cuffed to two deputies riding the rail for a couple miles. Not very scary at all, considering the other scum that ride the bus or rail.

did you really know that person sitting next to you when you ride that bus or light rail? There is some one that has some type of court or criminal record that rides, there is just too much prejudice in this world. Let he who hath no sin, cast the 1st stone!!!

I cant wait 'till they make a movie about it....It will be called "Con Rail" and it will star Nicolas Cage, John Malkovich, John Cusack, Ving Rhames, and Steve Buscemi and it will be the best movie EVER!!!! I voted for Joe, I like Joe and the way he treats the scum of our state (Illegals and prisoners, etc.), but this idea is a little wacked out and comical. I still say GO JOE!, but you might want to run these ideas of yours past someone before announcing them to the public.

This is just another media stunt; I can't believe he wouldn't even talk to Valley Metro first. Some of you may not know but this light rail also helps out our disabled community, I know ya'll are kind of busy to care but if you think about who uses public transportation the most it would be the disabled population. These are not the kind of criminals that want to be here, these are extradited felons. Do you want to expose the most vulnerable of our community this? $72,000 is a crock, if he wasn't so busy touring the country giving interviews about his new stupid show, maybe he would have time to look at how he is spending out money. I can't believe you people voted for him.

This is one of the worst ideas Joe has come up with. Does he think taxpayers footed the bill for him to make the light rail into his personal jail train? We pay taxes for law enforcement to have their own transportation, not hitchhike on ours. The light rail is enough of a boondogle without scaring potential riders away. I would hope to never see criminals of any kind on the train, let alone expose my family to this kind of criminal element. Isnt this some sort of abuse of power?

I listened to an interview on talk radio with a rep from the light rail, and they said they are not prepared to provide free transportation to anyone, including Maricopa County Sheriff's dept.

Good question, AnonymousRex, reading my mind. I like the Sheriff but this 'free' parking issue is suspicious.

Arpiao clams they spend $72,000 a year on parking at the air port - parking that airport officials say is provided for free and that the MCSD has been using. So where did that $72,000 *really* go???? Time for an audit of the Sheriff's office????

Just more proof that the Sheriff is nothing more than a pathedic media whore. The airport says they allow the Sheriff's deputies to park there for free. So this excuse about it costing a lot to park at the airport is a bunch of B.S. He is the cheapest basturd that I have ever seen. Why is it that he needs to contact the media if it just him doing his J-O-B. He is the biggest joke for a Sheriff.Where is Sheriff Joe's biggest fan AZRAIA to kiss his A$$

Just another way for Arpaio to get on the news. This won't last long, something will happen and then BIG lawsuit.
