Staying safe on the dangerous and deadly Arizona roadways -- that's the goal of top state and national traffic safety leaders when they meet September 7-10 for the annual Governors Highway Safety Association meeting in Scottsdale.

This year’s theme is “Turning Knowledge into Action.”

Some important issues will be discussed including the use of speed cameras, the National Minimum Drinking Age, improving motorcycle safety and implementing ignition interlocks for drunk driving offenses.

The conference will focus on how to translate months and years of research into effective state highway safety programs.
