A huge music-themed development has been proposed in Phoenix for the area surrounding Celebrity Theatre.

The Phoenix Business Journal reports that Former Phoenix Mayor Paul Johnson is behind the Celebrity City project, and right now it's moving through the city approval process.

The $1 billion-dollar development would cover more than 22 acres at the northwest corner of 32nd and Van Buren streets.

If approved, it would include an outdoor concert venue, restaurants, hotels, affordable housing and office space.
