A robber who covers his face like a popular TV character struck another Valley bank Friday morning, according to the FBI.
The robber, nicknamed the 'Wilson Bandit,' apparently entered a Bank of America near Elliot Road and Interstate 10 at about 9 a.m.
He reportedly gave the teller a note demanding money. The note threatened that he had a gun, according to the FBI. They say no weapon was actually seen.
After being given the money, the man was seen by witnesses leaving the bank on foot, heading eastbound.
It is unknown how much the robber took, but the suspect was reportedly given a dye pack that exploded.
There was an additional scene at a nearby McDonalds where the pack was said to have exploded.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male wearing a red or grey sweatshirt.
Because the dye pack exploded, the suspect is possibly covered in material from it.
The FBI reports the "Wilson Bandit" is responsible for three other robberies, all at Desert Schools Federal Credit Union branches in Tempe and Ahwatukee.
There is a $5,000 reward for original information leading to the conviction of the suspect.
The suspect is called the "The Wilson Bandit" because he covers part of his face like Mr. Wilson, the popular character in the TV show "Home Improvement."
