A warning for people driving near the light rail tracks in Tempe this week.

Tempe police and ASU police have launched a week-long operation targeting drivers for traffic violations near the tracks.

The operation will emphasize the importance of safety and abiding traffic laws so that students specifically remain vigilant near campus.

The departments are launching this campaign because school was not in session during the grand opening of the light rail.
