Phoenix police arrested and charged a 38-year-old Maricopa County Sheriff's Detention Officer for sexual conduct with a minor Monday.
Police said a 15-year-old relative of Robert Ramirez reportedly told her mother, who is also a detention officer, she was molested by Ramirez when she was about 10-years-old.
Police said Ramirez admitted to the charge after failing a polygraph examination.
The suspect worked for the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office as a detention officer since November of 2005 and was assigned to the Lower Buckeye Jail.
As a result of his arrest, Ramirez has been placed on administrative leave pending further determination of his employment, according to Phoenix police.
