Apache Junction has become a popular tourist spot in recent years.

Business owners will tell you the draw is the result of the Superstition and Goldfield Mountains.

The reason, according to Pamela Fairchild, owner of Life's Perfect Balance is because, "This particular place has magic and energy."

The Superstition Mountains stand majestically over Apache Junction, soaring some three thousand feet above the desert floor.

"Superstition Mountain itself is a 30 million-year-old volcano," said Fairchild.

Inside her retreat, Fairchild incorporates Tibetan Lamas teachings and said she has lived "The Secret" and shared its lessons of positive attraction with others long before it became a book.

In the nearby Goldfield Mountains, former German Olympian, NAU graduate and NCAA All-American Sabine Krieger is opening a spa called Elysium.

"It's a Latin word and it pretty much means Heaven and I want to create a heaven on earth where people can forget about their stress," said Krieger.

Krieger said spa has special healing powers, where she specializes in affordable massage therapy and personal training targeting the mind, body and spirit.

"Most spas are very expensive so I don't have those prices," she said.

Besides the spiritual help, Fairchild also has big plans for her health temple.

"Nobody's been doing weddings in a big way on Superstition which flabbergasted me because Sedona's so full of them," said Fairchild.
