I cannot believe that this girl will only get a misdemeanor charge. What is WRONG with AZ? Regardless of who was "gunning" through the yellow light as some people commented below, the person turning left MUST yield the right-of-way to the person going straight. She did not see him, as simple as that. I hope to God she will remember this accident, remember John, for the REST OF HER LIFE! I also hope that she spends some time in jail... John was a great man. We weren't good friends, but we were acquaintances, and he was always very nice, had a gentle smile, and an incredible mind! I can only hope to be a person that he was... Rest in peace, John, I am sorry I found out too late. You will stay in my heart...

The 17 year old girl who was probably talking on her cell phone should be charged with manslaughter and sent to prison. However, that is not how Arizona operates...her family has money therefore she will get a slap on the wrist with a ticket and small fine and daddy will buy her a new BMW and she can go on her little happy way like nothing ever happened. YOU TOOK SOMEONES LIFE...HOW SELFISH CAN YOU BE...did you even bother to go to his service? Has your rich daddy offered to help his family with the medical or funeral costs? NOPE. How about an apology on here to those of us who can't imagine life without him? Think you could make time in your busy 17 year old text messaging schedule for that?

Me and my brother were the first on scene, my brother holding his head to stop the bleeding and I was holding his hands trying to talk to him and calm him. I am very saddened by this news. I had stopped by the motorcycle shop with my wife to see how he was doing but could not find out, me and my brother both called the hospital but could not get any info because we were not family. My deep sympathy to the family of this man. I saw the whole thing happen before my eyes and I can honestly say that it was not his fault, it was an unfortunate accident. The girl driving didn't even know what hit her she never saw him for what ever reason. I know this cause she was screaming what did I just hit several times. I hope you all will not be so judgemental it was an accident in its purest form. I again am sorry to hear about this from the internet, but want the family to know me and my brother did everything we possibly could to help John.

Why do people have to act like children when making comments. A man is gone here and there are alot of comments on here that are really not appropriate. Ok John did NOT gun through the yellow light, the teenager in the car did, she made an illeagal turn. John was not at fault at all. My daughter witnessed the so called accident, when it all reality it was a car full of teens too immature and too impatient to sit and wait through the light. When someone is going straigt through and intersection and the light turns yellow as they come up to it, do you expect that they will just be able to stop? No you keep going. John was a responsible and expirenced rider, this was in no way his fault. So many people are killed because of teenage drivers, they are not responsible enough and they think nothing bad can happen. They should not be allowed to drive! John was a respected and talented member of our community and will be missed horribly. People should be using this site to honor him, not argue and bicker like kids. R.I.P. John....ride free forever!!!

I knew John, and he was a good man...I hadn't seen him in a few years, but I will miss stopping by his shop to say hi...Hopefully others will read this story and see how important it is to pay attention when you are driving, you never know what is going to happen. RIP JOHN

John was a dear friend. He will be missed by many. I will miss going to see some of his work at Blackmagic. He had magical hands when it came to working on a bike! Our hearts are with you, John, and your family.

Redcactus - I am assuming you know the facts? Not wearing a helmet has nothing to do with an illegal right turn and you can go through a yellow. YOU obviously don't ride.
