SCOTTSDALE, AZ -- Actress Lindsay Lohan got quite a scare at a Scottsdale nightclub early Wednesday when a man allegedly attacked her.

The celebrity was at the Jackrabbit Lounge near Drinkwater Boulevard and Indian School Road with her friend, DJ Samantha Ronson, for an event sponsored by BlackBerry.

The two were leaving the lounge at about 1:25 a.m. when 38-year-old Daniel Patrick Combs reportedly lunged at Lohan.

Police said Combs tried to get around security and pushed one of the guards.

Jackrabbit Lounge club owner Dan Wierck said, "The gentleman became very excited when he realized he was so close to Samantha and he has a history of being a stalker with Lindsay Lohan so he immediately attacked her and started yelling, 'I love her, I love her.'"

Lohan and Ronson left the premises without incident in a dark SUV.

Security detained the man until officers arrived at the scene.

Wierck stated that the man had never been to the club before and that Lohan recognized him during the attack.

However, officers contacted the two at a nearby hotel where they told police that they saw security detaining a person as they walked by, but they did not know the person arrested.

No one was hurt during the altercation.

Combs was released at 6 a.m. Wednesday on the promise to appear for one count of Disorderly Conduct.
