Hours for Valley's light rail extended for New Year's Eve

If you plan to party on New Year’s Eve, you can feel a bit safer on the roads.

The light rail is extending its hours on December 31 until 3 a.m.

Officials tell ABC15 about 20,000 people will ride the light rail to Tempe’s block party and the Insight Bowl.

Some more good news – rides will be free until January 1.

The light rail is scheduled to start running in late December.
