A big honor for the Mountain Ridge marching band in Glendale.
The "Pride of the West" has officially been invited to play in the inaugural parade in Washington, DC.
The band will march down Pennsylvania Avenue following President-Elect Barack Obama's swearing-in ceremony on January 20, 2009.
According to the Armed Forces Inaugural Committee, 1,382 organizations applied to participate, but Mountain Ridge was the only band from Arizona to be invited.
The band's director said they must now raise $300,000 for their own lodging and transportation to and from Washington, D.C.
