As a former railroad engineer, I applaud the council for taking action to catch those who violate crossing laws. While there will be those who are furious at getting ticketed for crossing violations, hopefully they will learn from their mistake and lives will be saved. I cannot even begin to tell you the number of close calls that I have had with vehicles of all types, including school busses and gasoline tankers, in the 26 years I operated trains. This is a good move by the council and all should support it! David Corless Conway, AR

"El Mirage to use cameras to catch illegal railroad crossers".....WOW can we use the word illegal?? Maybe it should be undocumented railroad crossers?? After all, they are just trying to earn a living!! :)
