Law enforcement officers across the state made more than two thousand DUI arrests from Thanksgiving through New Year's Eve.
One of four drivers arrested were stopped for extreme DUI, with a blood alcohol limit exceeding .15, nearly double the legal limit.
More than 2,500 officers fanned out across the state starting on Thanksgiving, making more close to 27,000 traffic stops.
That means nearly one in ten drivers stopped was arrested for a DUI violation.
The average blood alcohol content of drivers arrested: .148, well above the legal limit of .08
Task force officials say they also made 143 underage DUI arrests and issued 349 underage consumption citations.
Task force members also wrote citations for speeding, driving under the influence of other drugs, and failing to use seat belts and child restraints.
The task force will continue its zero tolerance enforcement through New Year's Day.
