Three people were injured in a near head-on collision in Mesa Sunday night.
Police say a white Chevy pickup was traveling westbound on Southern Avenue near Signal Butte Road and tried to make a left-hand turn in front of a yellow Mercury Cougar.
The driver of the first pickup truck was transported to the hospital and she suffered a broken pelvis. Her passenger was airlifted to the hospital and suffered a punctured lung.
The passenger in the other vehicle was transported to the hospital and may have also been injured. The driver and another 3-year-old passenger were not seriously hurt.
Officers say alcohol appears to have been a factor in this collision.
