PHOENIX -- A suspicious package was found inside a piece of luggage at Sky Harbor Airport Sunday morning, prompting an investigation by airport officials, authorities said.
Sky Harbor spokesperson Deb Ostereicher said at about 10:30 a.m. Sunday a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) worker at Terminal 2 noticed a suspicious item inside a piece of luggage during the screening process.
The luggage was removed from Terminal 2 for additional screening, officials said.
According to Ostereicher, during that time, Terminal 2 passengers in that area were moved to another screening area and seven departing flights were delayed for one hour.
Ostereicher said arrivals were not impacted.
At 11:30 a.m., normal operations resumed at Sky Harbor and flights are now back on schedule, according to officials.
The owner of the luggage was taken for further questioning by airport officials.
