PHOENIX, AZ – Police arrested four suspects late Monday night after they discovered over 1,500 pounds of marijuana and multiple firearms in a Phoenix home.
Sophia Plummer, 26, Craig Richards, 22, Andrew White, 19, and Nicole Gordon, 26, were arrested for allegedly storing large quantities of marijuana in a residence located near 69th and Southern avenues.
A neighborhood patrol alerted police around 10:45 p.m. to a suspicious Budget rental van that was slowly driving around the community, according to authorities.
Police reportedly found the van backed into the driveway of the residence where they contacted Richards and Gordon inside the vehicle. A third suspect who had been in the van fled into the backyard of the house, officials say.
The police followed the suspect to a door leading into the house and noted that there were pry marks on the door itself, according to authorities.
Officers then requested the occupants of the home to exit the residence and at that time Plummer and her 14-year-old daughter came out of the house, officials say.
Plummer reportedly told police that there were people inside the home that did not live there. The two were detained while authorities performed a search of the home, according to authorities.
During the search, police found and detained White, as well as large quantities of narcotics, officials say.
Police found 37 separately packed boxes full of marijuana weighing around 1,500 pounds with an estimated street value of $1 million, according to authorities.
Detectives also found handguns, ammunition and two assault rifles in the home.
All four suspects face charges of possessing marijuana for sale. White and Richards also face charges of misconduct involving weapons.
Police are still investigating the incident at this time.
