PD: Police identify woman shot, killed outside Phoenix home

PHOENIX – Police are investigating a homicide after a woman was found shot to death at a Phoenix home Monday morning.

Trent Crump with the Phoenix Police Department said the homicide occurred around 1:30 a.m. at a home near 35th and Southern avenues.

Crump said a roommate at the home heard shots and went outside to find 35-year-old Destiny Simpson with a gunshot wound.

No other details have been released and the investigation is ongoing.
