PHOENIX -- Looking for a motorcycle, riding lawn mower, or some scrap metal?
The Phoenix Surplus Public Auction may be the place for you.
"I think I should come away with something worth while," said potential bidder Chris Goldthwaite.
The City of Phoenix holds the public auction every three months and close to 200 lots of the city's surplus property are sold to the highest bidder.
Officials say this auction is a little different.
"We've got a couple of unique items this time," said Mark Townsend with the City of Phoenix.
The auction will be held on Saturday, and bidders will get the chance to walk away with everything from cars and trucks to more specialized items like fork lifts, tractors, A/C units and office equipment.
They are also selling a 100 foot fire department ladder truck and a bomb transport trailer.
Goldthwaite is looking for something a little more practical.
"I just need a good utility vehicle, to help friends move," Goldthwaite said.
He hopes to be able to buy something between $500 and $2,000.
A press release issued from the city of Phoenix said 91 cars, 32 pickups and 10 trailers will all be at the auction yard Saturday.
Officials recommend registering online prior to the auction to receive a bidder's card, but registration will also be available at the auction.
Gates open to the public on Saturday at 7:30 a.m. and close at 3 p.m. The auction will begin at 9 a.m.
